A normal character who has not been mentored can play a lute and either a clarinet or a horn. Just go to a bard and buy one or both for 2 silver each. Burglars, hunters, rune keepers and lore masters play clarinets while captains, champs, wardens, Beornings and guardians play horns. Look in Passive Skills under Instrument Proficiencies.
I’ve been playing around with this again and am learning to transcribe sheet music for the game. Anyone have a favorite song?
